HELLO FELLOW GUM TREE USERS. I AM SORTA NEW TO THIS SITE, AND HAVE FOUND THAT IT BLOODY AWESOME FOR EVERYTHING MOSTLY:
BUT I THINK THERE SHOULD BE SOME ONE WHO GETS RID OF THE OLD ADS OR A TIME LIMIT FOR UR AD TO BE UP
. BECAUSE THERE'S SOME OLDIES UP THERE AND WHO KNOWS IF THEY ARE STILL VALID?
AND CAN ANY ONE TELL ME WHAT THE DEAL IS WITH PAYING TO BE A MEMBER? IS THIS TRUE? OR IS IT TO GET BETTER SERVICE U MUST PAY? Shocked[color=blue]

Hi mjass,

If you feel that some of the old ads are no longer current, we have an option to let you inform the administration. If you look in an ad, you will see a box on the right hand side that says "Report This Ad". One of the options is "No Longer Current", just tick this, and the admins will take a look at the ad and see if it should be removed or not.

Hi Mjass.........yes I agree those sellers that have had their products sold should be compelled to remove their ads or all ads should have a time limit put on them ....it might look good for Gumtree to have all these people selling but they are just a waste of space to genuine buyers if these products are sold and not really there. I have seen some ads there for a couple of months after they have sold. Diditdunit

In response to comment made by rchan84: I unfortunately accidentally clicked on the "no longer current" in the "report this ad"column whilst looking at the advertisement listing "CHARMING SPACIOUS AND STUNNY ONE BEDROOM FLAT FOR RENT" ( Ad ID: 70021736 ). How do I undo this?! ALSO, DO YOU THINK THIS AD IS FOR REAL? OR IS IT POSSIBLE THE PRICE IS A TYPO? THE PRICE JUST SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE ($110 A WEEK) AND AM CONCERNED AS TO WHETHER THERE IS ANYTHING DODGY ABOUT IT.

i agree there sould be an expiry date for adds and there needs to be a filter for people putting the wrong adds in the wrong places eg if you cant to post an add for an apartment you have available for rent the site for availabel proerties is full of people 'Wanting' places to rent and these are posted every hour/minute so before your add can be seen by the irght crowd youa re already ten pages away in the list because of other adds in the wrong section!!!\\

there needs to be an administrator who reviews the sites

ps. plus we need a site for giving things away.. freebies

Hmmm there used to be a freebies section but nooone ever used it, I guess the admin didn't think it worth keeping an empty section and had it removed. *shrug*
