Ok, new format for the site. Personally I thought the old one was usable and didn't mind it but OK, whatever gets you through the night.
HOWEVER, big problem with the flat and house share forums. The old site put the suburb in parenthesis after the one line ad title. PLEASE BRING THIS BACK.
I don't want to open an ad and skim through it to find out its in Mandurah.
Likewise we don't really need the first couple of sentences from the ad either. Just keep the old format. It worked. This new one doesn't. |

I completely agree.
Although I also think it was fine before, I have no worries about the general sprucing up of the site; however this particular change has made that section a whole lot less user friendly. I am much less inclined to use it now - and it has always been my first port of call for this sort of thing.
Please reinstate an easy way of viewing the suburbs for the property section. |

| Oh my god! What has happened to my favorite site. Please, please, please, change it back. This is an absolute shocker. I cannot find anything in the accomodation area. Where are the ads I saw yesterday and last week. I knew Gumtree was too good to be true. |

|

Hi luckyl,
You can choose to filter the 'Wanted' vs the 'Offered' rentals/sharehouses over on the left hand side of the page, under the heading 'Types'.
It defaults to showing all but you can then select which one you want.
hope that helps |

Thanks moffely,
I'll give it a try. It's getting a bit easier to navigate but I still don't like it. I'm one of those guys who gets my son to program the VCR and I found the old format suited my basic computer skills. |

It's getting easier. I placed an ad and did it all by myself! There seems to be a lot of share house requests in the real estate wanted area. Is this a system problem or are they just straying from their allocated area? |

I love Gumtree. When I lived in London it found me a job, place to live, tickets to concerts it was everything I ever needed. When I got back home and needed to find a place to live, Gumtree was my first port of call.
It has never let me down... until now.
I am currently in the market for a new share house but am finding it almost impossible to navigate the new site.
I say bring back the old format. As someone else put it: "if it ain't broke don't fix it!" |

I too wish to be positive with changes, but have been trying to post an ad for 2 days now and no go!!!!!! keep getting an error message, keep reading the rules, sent and email for help and no reply......dear guys this really was a great site known all over the world.....
1) old one line format gave you the chance to see what was available at what cost.
2) reposting was a lot easier
3) daily lists were easy to see the age of the ad
thanks for all your efforts though..... |
