There are a number of PROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS that are using Gumtree to falsely advertise in teh Motorbikes and cars/vehicles for sale. The ad's offer new model vehicles for less than a 1/4 of what they are worth.

I have informed Gumtree of these ad's and still they continue to advertise to ensnare potential buyers. Two current ad's on Motorbikes for sale involve a Suzuki Hayabusi for $3300 and a 2002 BMW 1200RS for $5600. The advertisers replies to enquiries from overseas and say " I was posted in Australia but had to return home and took the vehicles to Spain or whatever. I cannot sell them here but want to sell them back in Aust. They are at teh docks waiting to be shipped at no cost to the buyer....." or such dribble as this.

Gumtree Admin has the ability to trace the ad's and delete or block the email addresses of these cheats. WHY ARE THEY NOT PROTECTING USERS OF THIS SERVICE?

Very poor showing and such turning of a blind eye only encourages this kind of theft. I feel that Gumtree has a duty of care towards users of the site and may be open to a Law Suit if they do not stop this scamming.

I hope no-one reading this has been scammed here.

Given that scammers use free email details (like hotmail etc) and often operate behind proxy servers, internet cafes, libraries, and the like, how would you ban them, without banning a large slice of other, innocent, users?

The sheer number of these ads makes the car section useless for anybody actually looking...

It looks like somebody is lifting ads from other sites to spam this one with.
