Hi everyone,
We're moving to Melbourne in the near future and we're wondering what suburbs are nice to live in?
We want to be fairly colse to the city and preferably on the east side. We've a fairly limited budget so nothing too fancy.
Thanks in advance for any advice. |

If you have a limited budget then you can forget living near the city!
Sorry to bring bad news. But prices have sky rocketed lately.
Cheers, Glen

| att: melbchat: look melbourne is expensive and all the rental is taken as soon as you look but if it helps at all just keep your eyes glued to the gumtree house share or you might want to see if you can apply for any house minding ? |

yeh, near the city is always expensive in melbourne.
I would recommend you to look at the northside first. The same distance to the city, northside is not as expensive as the east. West is not as desirable as the roads are not as neat in grids like the rest of melbourne, and so it could be difficult to navigate if you drive.
Northside has a nice diversity of people, as there are a lot of non-anglo people living there. There are also more flats and townhouses for singles, sharing, etc. East is more family oriented.
Hope this helps. |

The Dee,
You need to give more information for people to be able to assist you:
For instance, which of these are most/least important to you:
Freestanding House/ Unit/ Apartment
Back yard
Garage
Proximity to shops/transport/schools
Proximity to powerlines/railways/freeways
Price (buying or renting)
Future capital growth
Cheers,
The Y-man |
