|
|
Hi,
My husband & I are moving to Melbourne in September & I would like some info on which suburbs to live ect ect.
Some of my husbands relatives live in Sydenham which is about 30 mins away from the city, which I feel is a bit far off. Ideally I would like to live within a 10-15 mins drive to the city & have easy access to the train station & trams. My basic requirements are as below-
1) 10-15 mins drive to city. Max 20 mis.
2) Walking distance to train station/Tram
3) Easy access to a good Gym & pool.
4) Not too far away from Sydenham. ( Within 20 mins drive)
I would really appreciate your suggestions/comments on which suburbs I should be looking at based on the above requirements & also the approx RENT for a 2-3 bedroom house/unit.
Thanks Much!
Nysa. |

I lived in melbourne for three years in the past.
sydenham is on the south side, right?
Elwood and St. Kilda should suit you. If it's too expensive for you in these suburbs, you can follow the train line, or Nepean Highway to go a bit further south.
If that's not a requirement, I would choose to live in Box Hill or those suburbs around Box Hill and on train line.
Cheers

i would guess about 2000K per month. rent is pretty expensive that close to town. a nice place might be 3000K per month.

Sydenham is out north/north-west.
Moving inwards from there would be areas like Sunshine, St Albans,Essendon, Maribyrnong, Kensington, Flemington.
15min drive to drive to city in peak would require you to live in the CBD (takes that long to get across one block....)
Cheers,
