Hi
If you head west (or north west to the mining towns), make sure you have accomodation before you go. Some companies provide but to be sure organise something prior even if it's a few weeks in a caravan park.
It's easiest to get a job if you are in the town. People that are willing to work are hired the same day as they apply usually. Also you will be hired quicker if you have somewhere to stay.
Lots of people have to leave the northern towns cause they can't afford to stay there even though they earn heaps.
Hope this helps |

gday mate,
firstly, you're not alone! Many thousands of Aussies, just like you, are contemplating a move into the far corners of our great land. And why shouldnt they?! the Mining Council of Australia announced earlier this year that some 86,000 people will be required in the mine IN ADDITION TO the hundreds of thousands already working there between now and 2020. The Western Australian equivalent of this federal body, the Department of Commerce and Industry, announced that many more people will be required in WA ALONE between now and 2020. So, on any view, there are heaps of jobs which you should consider applying for!
Everything you have ever needed to know about mining jobs and how to find employment in the Australian mines is available at:

good luck mate!

Hey haveachat,
Found this site two days ago really helpful info about getting a job in the mines. My mrs got an interview from the info on the site at mining camp, she finds out next week. Sounds like its best to join up to the site more info. Oh yeah no need to buy ebook, all the info is for free on the site.
