My research to date on other alternative gumtree sites....

Is anyone else having problems uploading ads on gumtree (not appearing) despite your ad appearing under 'my gumtree' indicating that the ad is being listed when it is not? I have given up because i can not seem to work this site even when i attempt to create a new profile with another email address of mine. Anyone know of any good sites where perth roomates can be located? I have located and found the following but none seem to be really good:
- simple trade (it seems nobody is really using this site despite its excellent features)
- easy roommate (if you are not a paying member then you cant read ingoing or outgoing mail unless you upgrade)
- perth exchange (i have had very few responses as it seems the site is not being advertised)
- share accommodation.net (this is terrible, you cant do anything unless you are a paying member)

If you think you know where a good site to advertise or locate room mates can be found particularly for perth people, please let me know!

hi my advice is ,go to ebay you have to pay for ads but you DO get results.....

I have posted an ad on a site called Ockalist i dont think it has been going long, but it looks like people are using it. I think its free to post an Ad, however i paid for a featured ad which cost $5 for 30days, s i offer handyman services in the Gold Coast, a featured ad guarantees that my ad will stay at the top of the search results. hope this helps ...

I use an aussie site called www.swapbarterbuy.com They have free and paid ads, and have a message board where you could probably advertise for room mates. Simple and unlike Gumtree doesn't take days to see your ads!!!

Looks like for the average person then, Gumtree is the best.
