| It is such a good site on the surface.I advertise things and get heaps of lookers but no enquiries though. It is definetly not my pricing as I sell similar things on Ebay without any trouble. |

Alot of lookers so far, and a nasty comment from a puppy mill breeder. Maybe there are just alot of people browsing with nothing better to do, hope to have success in the future with this site ,as it is easy to access and use. |

Depends on what you're selling.
If you have a product that someone wants, and its in good condition at a reasonable price, then you will get buyers.
On the other hand, I have seen some items that are in good condition, but clearly over zealous pricing, or that are in poor condition at a reasonable price (not suggesting yours are either of these).
At the end of the day, if you are selling a product that is in demand you will get both lookers and buyers.
And yes, you will get lots of lookers not necessarily wanting to buy, but will if they recognise a bargain. This is where you need to be careful to spot a bargain from a potential scam as the scams are usually priced much lower than what you would expect.
Anyway, good luck with your item, if you persist I'm sure someone will eventually spot the value. |

| I have had very little success too, even with ONO or BEST OFFER. I accepted an offer on an item (less than I really wanted) told the guy okay it's yours - and he never replied back? Lots say they'll come, you give the address and set a time to come buy/pick up and they never show. Also get a lot of scammers on here, saying they will pay by Pay-pal often a few hundred dollars over the amount I ask. Thing is there are tonz of other free sites out there, so if you've got the time, it never hurts to advertise on a few, in some casses I've had better success. |

| No success here for me, items I have listed have been very good prices, but Nope, no takers, about to give this site a flick, too much spam, too much posting of pirated goods(in particular in the dvd/cd section) and too much BS!! |

I love it.... I have sold many things and get what I ask for , I also love not having to pay fees...
I tell a lot of people about the site and am surprised that 99% of the time no one has heard of it, so do what I do..
I put a "signature" at the bottom of all my emails, telling people to check out gumtree... and they would be amazed at what you can buy and sell.
Word of mouth is great for getting more people looking at it and buying our things and selling things we may like. |

Hi all,
This sounds like a great idea. You can't go wrong with gumtree!
If you want to get the word out there to more buyers and sellers to use it use a signiture on your emails.

FYI to all - eBay has bought out gumtree.
OT - I have always had great success with this site. |
