WARNING READ THIS EMAIL TRAIL-DONT GET SCAMMED

THIS IS A SCAM AND THE LISTING IS STILL ON GUMTREE ALTHOUGH I HAVE REPORTED IT.
Please dont give up your hard earned cash to one of these scammers. Thanks to people on gumtree posting scam info I did not lose my money but came very close. I contacted ebay about ebay motors which is actually real (they talked me through vievwing it) but the links provided are no real it is a fake site, dont be ---- in. DAS Shipping and freighting company is also part of the scam. The item/s listed have the rego and serial numbers obscured which should be your first concern. Many of the other posts talk about the UK - this one has chosen the U.S to be working in.

Another too good to be true item listed on Gumtree, this site is simply not safe. I found 2 others yesterday which were promptly taken off. 1 x listed in VIC, a $300,000 boat for $10000 and another in Brisbane a $50,000 boat for $9000.

These people are seriously dangerous be very aware!!! I hope I can deter others from being ---- in on this site. Use ebay and look at what you are buying prior for big ticket items.

I want to mention that the boat was inspected prior to this listing on eBay and they can guarantee that everything is in order. Also i remind you that you have 5 days to test and inspect the boat to make sure for yourself that what you see is what you get and make sure that you are satisfied with the boat. eBay will give you a full refund in the case something is wrong with the boat but it will not be the case. I hope i answered all your questions, and if you decide to buy my boat eBay will provide you with all the details about everything and confirm what i told you by now. The boat is already at a shipping company in Darwin, Australia. I took the boat to them to be able to ship it to a potential buyer whilst I'm in the United States with my job. I also have the boat listed on eBay so i can use their secured system.
I'm very busy with my job and I'm sorry I can't meet you in person.
According to eBay, after you receive the boat, you have 5 days to test and inspect it to see if it is exactly as i described it, and if you decide to keep it, eBay will release the money to me. If not, they will refund your money and the shipping company will take the boat back on my expense and keep it until I find a new buyer.

.....a 2005 Quintrex 530 'Freedom' is currently valued at around AU$35,000.

.....surely Gumtree buyers and/or sellers can expect that Gumtree administrators and/or moderators at least carry out a cursory scan of ALL ads posted? It took me about 12 seconds to find out a genuine price for this boat; is that really TOO much to expect of Gumtree? I don't think so!

.....in my opinion, Gumtree is really failing in their "duty of care" to their legitimate clients. Which, at the end of the day, may well bring them down as a respected source of free online trading.

.....any comments from Gumtree re this problem?

Unlike ebay, Gumtree does not have a message box therefore these scammers come directly to your email. I too looked up the price of the boat and straight away thought it too cheap.

Also questioned the REGO being whited out - This should be a simple check for Gumtree.

All I can say is that this site is too risky so I will not be using it too purchase anything.

I have reported this scam as I am sure many others have to government scamming agency.

I wonder how many people have followed through with payments
