I have been advertising on here for about 6 weeks now,,,,,all going well, until today.
I paid for a Gallery ad and a Top ad, several hours later I got an email to tell me it was deleted.
This is in the email.
"As explained in our posting rules we do not allow ads that advertise pyramid selling, multi level marketing or work from home schemes on Gumtree."
We are a training Company, We teach people to become Home Sustainability Assessors. We have been trained by the Commonwealth of Australia. This is part of the Federal Governments Scheme to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
People that do our course are helping the Environment while making a very good living through our Education.
I did not change the ad, it is still the same except for a picture of people in our classroom.
I am posting here after trying to find out how to contact Gumtree without success.
It is a good site, but it could be so much better.
Thanks |

..... this response from Gumtree is total hypocrisy! At any given time, there's literally dozens of ads for multi-level marketing and home-based work plans. Why have they chose to single your ad out? Particularly since your scheme is a Government initiative.
I can only think that there's some subtle political agenda operating here.
.....unfortunately, there's simply NO easy way to contact Gumtree admins, or expect ANY sort of response from them here!
I'm also intrigued in the way that Gumtree admins repeatedly leave ads from the same scammers on the board for weeks at a time -- despite members reporting them. Gumtree seems to ignore every rule in the book with certain members, and yet jump on others -- like yourself -- with legitimate ads.
.....shall we conclude that Gumtree's interpretation of their own Terms and Conditions is somewhat... um... flexible? |
