Thanks for posting your ad with an "X" error!

Some of you would have seen the dreaded red box in the top of the page with a large '"X " saying "thanks for posting your Ad" then you look for your ad within the categories and it isn’t posted.

As all of you know Gumtree is a local community classifieds and we continually encourage local face to face trade and interaction between the local community. So anyone outside of the local community who tries to post onto a Gumtree site which isn’t their geographically closest local city/country might face this error and will be unable to post on the site.

This error can also occur when your access to Gumtree has been suspended and you will need to contact us to start using Gumtree again. We have a community reporting system on Gumtree that does a great job at keeping the site clean of inappropriate ads but every now and again ads are reported for us to look at that are actually fine. These measures are put in place to protect our local communities and ensure that they are protected from potentially fraudulent activities that take place over the internet.

So if you are faced with the “X” please contact Gumtree support and we can help you further and determine if the local community you are trying to advertise under is suitable for your needs or we can work out why your account is suspended.
